What We Do

A Stairlift That Fits
Your Staircase.

Most stairlift companies show up to sell you a unit. We show up to understand your staircase — its width, angle, wall clearances, and how you move on it — before recommending anything. That sequence changes what gets installed and how well it works.

We install AmeriGlide stairlifts for homeowners throughout Southern California, including Ventura County, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Pasadena, Burbank, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara. Every installation is preceded by a free in-home assessment and followed by full user training before we leave.

Stairlifts mount to the stair treads — not the wall — so installation requires no structural modification and is fully reversible. Most straight-rail installations are completed in a single day.

Most Common

Straight Stairlift
Installation

The most affordable and fastest-to-install configuration. If your staircase runs in a single straight line, a straight-rail stairlift is almost certainly the right solution.

Straight stairlift rails are cut to the length of your staircase and mounted directly to the treads. The chair folds flat against the wall when not in use, leaving room for others to use the stairs. Battery backup is standard — your stairlift works even during a power outage.

We install AmeriGlide straight stairlifts, which are manufactured in the United States, come with a comprehensive warranty, and are available in standard and heavy-duty configurations. Most straight-rail installations are completed in 3–5 hours.

Installation Time
3–5 hours for most straight staircases. Completed in a single visit.
Weight Capacity
Standard models to 300 lbs. Heavy-duty models to 400+ lbs available.
Battery Backup
Operates during power outages. Critical for reliable daily use.
Folds Flat
Seat, footrest, and armrests fold when not in use. Staircase remains usable by others.

Curved Stairlift
Installation

If your staircase bends, turns, or has a landing, a curved stairlift uses a custom-fabricated rail built specifically to your staircase's geometry.

Curved stairlifts are more complex and more expensive than straight systems — the rail is manufactured to the exact shape of your staircase, which requires precise measurements and a fabrication lead time. But they're the right solution when a straight rail simply won't follow your staircase's path.

We measure your staircase during the assessment, the rail is fabricated to spec, and installation typically takes a full day. Curved stairlifts carry the same features as straight systems — battery backup, safety sensors, remote controls, and folding seat — with the added capability of navigating any configuration.

Custom Rail
Built to the exact geometry of your staircase — turns, landings, and all.
Lead Time
Fabrication typically takes 2–4 weeks after measurements are taken.
Installation Time
Usually a full day. More complex configurations may require two visits.
Any Configuration
90-degree turns, 180-degree turns, intermediate landings — all supported.

Exterior Access

Outdoor Stairlift
Installation

For exterior stairs — front entries, back porches, and hillside access — outdoor stairlifts are built to handle Southern California's climate year-round.

Outdoor stairlifts use weather-resistant materials throughout: UV-resistant seat and cover, anodized aluminum rail, and sealed electrical components. They're available in straight and curved configurations and operate on the same battery backup system as indoor units.

Southern California homes — particularly in Ventura County, Malibu, and hillside neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles — frequently have exterior stair configurations that create access barriers. An outdoor stairlift restores access to the full property without requiring landscaping changes or ramp construction.

Weather-Resistant
UV-resistant seat cover, anodized aluminum rail, sealed electrical — built for outdoor exposure.
Straight & Curved
Available in both configurations for any exterior staircase layout.
Battery Backup
Operates during outages. Particularly important for exterior access to the home.
Protective Cover
Weatherproof cover included. Keeps the unit protected when not in use.

Why Ace Access Homes

We're Not a Stairlift
Company.

Most stairlift dealers are exactly that — dealers. Their business model is unit sales. Ours is whole-home accessibility. That distinction changes how we approach the assessment, what we recommend, and what we won't recommend.

If a stairlift is the right answer for your home, we'll install it. If a vertical platform lift or a ramp is more appropriate, we'll tell you that instead — even though it may not be what you called about. We'd rather give you the right solution than the most profitable one.

01

CAPS-Certified Specialists

Our credential includes clinical coursework on mobility disorders, fall risk, and the built environment. We understand the problem before recommending the product.

02

Assessment Before Quote

We visit your home and measure your staircase before giving you a number. A phone quote isn't a real quote — staircase width, angle, and clearance all affect what gets installed.

03

Local, Owner-Operated

No franchise overhead, no dispatch queue, no 1-800 number. You speak directly with the person responsible for your installation — someone with a local reputation to protect.

04

Written Scope Before Work Begins

You receive exact pricing in writing before anything is ordered or scheduled. No surprises at installation, no post-visit pressure.

How a Stairlift
Assessment Works

We don't send a salesperson. We send an assessor.

A stairlift assessment takes 30–45 minutes. We measure the staircase, confirm which configurations will work, and give you an honest recommendation — including whether a stairlift is actually the right solution for your situation.

No pressure. No obligation.
1

In-Home Assessment

We visit your home, measure the staircase width, angle, wall clearances, and outlet location, and observe how you currently navigate the stairs. We identify which units will fit and which configurations are possible.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we hear often from homeowners and families. If yours isn't here, call or text us directly.

Call (805) 500-0801
How much does a stairlift cost in California?
Most homeowners in Southern California pay between $3,500 and $6,500 installed for a straight stairlift. Curved stairlifts run $10,000–$18,000+ depending on the complexity of the rail. Outdoor units cost 20–30% more than indoor equivalents. For a full breakdown of what drives the cost, see our guide: How Much Does a Stairlift Cost in California?
Does a stairlift require any structural modification to the home?
No. Stairlift rails mount to the stair treads — not the wall — using standard hardware. No construction, no wall anchoring, no permanent modification. The installation is fully reversible and leaves no lasting marks on the staircase. Most straight-rail installations are completed in 3–5 hours.
Can a stairlift be installed on a curved or L-shaped staircase?
Yes. Curved stairlifts use a custom-fabricated rail built to the exact geometry of your staircase — turns, bends, and landings included. We take precise measurements during the assessment, the rail is manufactured to spec, and installation typically takes a full day. Curved systems cost significantly more than straight systems due to the custom fabrication.
Does Medicare cover stairlifts?
Medicare generally does not cover stairlifts — they're classified as home modifications rather than durable medical equipment. Private insurance occasionally covers them with a physician's prescription. Veterans may qualify through the VA's SAH or SHA grant programs. We can discuss applicable funding options during the assessment.
What happens if the power goes out?
All units we install include battery backup as standard. The stairlift will continue to operate during a power outage — which is particularly important in Southern California where outages can occur. The battery charges automatically whenever the unit is parked at either end of the rail.
Will a stairlift block others from using the stairs?
No. The seat, footrest, and armrests all fold up when the stairlift is not in use, leaving the staircase accessible for others. Most folded stairlifts leave at least 24 inches of clear stair width — sufficient for most staircases. We confirm clearance measurements during the assessment.
How long does a stairlift last?
A well-maintained stairlift typically lasts 10–15 years. The units we install are manufactured in the United States and come with a comprehensive warranty. We provide full documentation on warranty terms in the written proposal before any work begins.
Do you serve my area?
