The bathroom causes more falls than any other room. Small changes make a dramatic difference.
The single most impactful bathroom modification for aging-in-place. Eliminating the step-over hazard removes the most common cause of bathroom falls in one project.
A traditional tub-to-shower conversion replaces a bathtub with a zero-threshold walk-in shower — no step to navigate, no tub wall to climb over. The result is a shower that's dramatically safer and, in most cases, more visually appealing than what it replaced. We design the space to look intentional, not retrofitted.
We handle the full scope: removal of the existing tub, waterproofing, tile or prefab surround installation, grab bar blocking, bench seating where appropriate, and a curbless drain. Handheld showerhead and anti-scald valve are included as standard.
The most common bathroom modification we install — and the most frequently done wrong. Placement, anchoring, and orientation are everything.
A grab bar that's in the wrong location or anchored into drywall instead of studs or blocking isn't just ineffective — it's dangerous. We assess how you move through the bathroom before recommending placement: where you transition from standing to sitting, where balance is most challenged, and what angles will actually be used in practice.
We install grab bars in tile, fiberglass, and prefab surrounds using toggle bolts, stud anchoring, or wall blocking depending on the substrate. All installations are rated for the appropriate load. Finish options include chrome, brushed nickel, oil-rubbed bronze, and matte black — because a grab bar doesn't have to look clinical.
Standing up from a standard-height toilet is one of the most physically demanding movements in the daily routine. It doesn't have to be.
Standard toilet height is 15 inches — designed for a seated position that requires significant quad and core strength to exit. Comfort-height toilets sit at 17–19 inches, which dramatically reduces the effort required to stand and the fall risk associated with the transition. For many clients, this is the highest-impact single change we make.
We install comfort-height toilets as full replacements or add toilet safety rails and raised seats to existing units where full replacement isn't warranted. We also install grab bars at the appropriate placement to support the standing transition — because the toilet grab bar and the toilet height work together, not independently.
A safe bathroom addresses every surface and transition — not just the obvious ones.
Wet tile is one of the most dangerous surfaces in the home. We install slip-resistant tile, apply anti-slip coatings to existing tile, and add bath mats with proper non-slip backing where appropriate.
A handheld showerhead on an adjustable slide bar allows bathing from a seated position and eliminates the need to reach or rotate. Anti-scald valves are included where needed.
Walk-in tubs provide a safe, accessible bathing option for clients who prefer soaking baths. We install walk-in tubs as a clean, finished conversion with your existing plumbing and surround.
Most contractors install grab bars where they're convenient to anchor, not where they'll actually be used. We assess how you move through your specific bathroom before recommending anything.
The difference between a grab bar that reduces fall risk and one that doesn't often comes down to 6 inches of placement. We take that seriously — because the consequences of getting it wrong are serious.
We observe how you enter, exit, and move through the bathroom before recommending placement — not after.
Every grab bar is anchored to studs, blocking, or rated structural hardware. We never install into drywall alone.
Grab bars, shower surrounds, and toilet modifications are available in finishes that match your existing bathroom. Safety doesn't have to announce itself.
Our credential includes clinical coursework on how balance and mobility change over time — which directly informs how we assess and design bathroom modifications.
We assess before we recommend.
A bathroom assessment takes about 30 minutes. We look at every transition point — entering the shower, sitting and standing at the toilet, reaching the sink — and identify the changes that will make the biggest difference for how you specifically move through the space.
No pressure. No overselling. We visit your bathroom, observe how you move through it, measure clearances and existing fixture heights, and identify every hazard — including the ones that aren't obvious yet.
We recommend the specific modifications that will make the biggest difference for your bathroom and your movement patterns. You receive a written proposal with clear pricing before any work is scheduled.
Grab bar installations are typically same-day. Shower conversions are coordinated for minimal disruption. We follow up after every installation to confirm everything is working as intended.
